Canton Lake lake is a 230 acre freshwater reservoir owned and operated by the City of Canton. It has 7.1 miles of shoreline and is supervised through assistance with the Illinois Department of Conservation. It offers a variety of amenities including fishing, boating and seasonal camping. Canton Lake is known for its trophy sized Largemouth Bass and its abundant Channel Catfish. The Lake's major fish species are Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Yellow Bass, Channel Catfish, Carp, and Gizzard Shad.
